The latest Micro 4/3 sensor is the new 25MP sensor in the Lumix GH6. Pixel density is roughly equivalent to that of a 100MP full frame sensor. The tests I've seen indicate that it has lower noise, greater dynamic range, and better high ISO performance than any other Micro 4/3 and many APS-C sensors. Videographers report using it at ISO 12,800 with acceptable results for some subject matter. The camera meets Netflix standards for video film production.
The GH6 has a special 100MP high resolution capture mode that works both hand-held and on a tripod, because the body has 7.5 stops of image stabilization at moderate focal lengths. It moves the sensor in a step and repeat sequence to combine multiple exposures into one image with a bit of AI. The tests I've seen look great. It's certainly no match for a Fujifilm medium format GFX 100, as shown by tests at dpreview.com, but if you are filming in nature and want a quick grab of a landscape, it will do in a pinch! Just use a better lens than DPReview did in their test chart tests…
