We are about the same frequency - not enough to drive me crazy. The land line seems under control with nomorobo. I just subscribed both cells phones for nomorobo. $19.99 a year or $1.99 a month. If it improves the frequency of occurrence, it's worth the nominal cost. Most calls are to reup our 2008 Accord warranty we sold in 2013.

My cell gets maybe 2 a month. I just ignore them if they are not in my contact list (I added Dr./Hosp to my contacts so they show up properly). Then I Google the calling number. I figure if they are legitimate, they'll leave a message.

That's humorous and indicates that you know little about how these calls are programmed. Try calling any of those numbers and you'll find the vast majority, if not all, are non-working numbers. So, you blocked those 16 numbers. Those companies will call you again from 16 new numbers.

yes, I've researched many persistent calls and they use phony information. Blocking them doesn't work or if they are a "legitimate" business calling to harass you into buying something, the call block will work but they also find another number and dodge the block too. Today I had a very persistent caller with a local number caller id--they called at least 6 times. I gave them the opportunity to leave a message but they just hung up. One time I did actually pick up the phone and said something "not so nice" and hung up but they called again. This last time I just picked up and left the phone open until it was off line--finally stopped. I too like my land line--a phone wherever it's convenient. Still haven't accomplished my i-phone--hate it actually--but it does take good photos.

If I get calls, especially from a state area code I have nothing to do with, my cell phone will let me block calls "starting with" numbers... For example I can enter <area code> or <area code>-<exchange> and the phone will block all calls starting with those 3-6 digits. THAT comes in handy if I get different spam calls from the same exchange and/or area code.

My landline provider Xfinity (Comcast) offers nomorobo as part of the service. It is very good -- I'm now down to maybe 10+/- a month. I periodically do a check on what's been blocked and most are clearly phone number hijackings. For my cell phone, Verizon Wireless, it's more like 1 or 2 a month -- Verizon does a very good job of blocking.

About 7 months ago we were up to perhaps 15 a day. Never answered, but it was annoying. Got a call blocker, and in that time, I’ve blocked 514 numbers, yesterday 1. So that has worked for us, and interestingly, never any on a weekend. Also, none before noon, or after 7PM.

Government could stop it, but hasn’t yet.

How are you all doing on robo-calls, especially those of you who still have a land line, as we do? Yesterday, between 1PM and 4PM, we had sixteen calls. Of course, after the ringing ended, I entered all 16 into our CPR-Call Blocker. Hence they will never be able to call us again. But I've never see so many in such a short time window.

How are all you doing with Robo Calls, especially if you are using a Land Line?

I got rid of my landline and just use a cell phone. I hardly get any Robo calls. And when I do my phone shows me a spam or some other warning and I just don’t bother to answer it.

I get many of them daily, but they all spoof the number so blocking the number displayed does little to stop them. If I don't recognize a number I won't answer it and they never leave a message.

So true. I work in a telephone office and have to answer all calls. I get an average of six robocalls a day. Over time, I have recognized the voices and I also hear the system switch from auto dial to an agent. I can see all the numbers they use and they mostly appear to be local numbers, but are self generated by their equipment and tailored to match the local call zone. Without tracing equipment on line when the call comes in, there is no way to determine where the call is coming from. But from experience and tracing, we know that nearly all calls are from several countries in southeast Asia. They wouldn't continue if it was not a lucrative business and they know that no one is going to stop them. So, it is just a nuisance to deal with. Sometimes when I'm not busy, I'll take them on a joy ride giving fake answers to their questions and tying them up for minutes at a time. At least, during that time, they cannot bug somebody else.

I have noticed that most automated robots-calls will disconnect after the 6th or 7th ring. If it doesn’t, I don’t answer. I figure on the rare occasion this doesn’t work they will leave a message or I will recognize the number as legit.

My phone is set up to not accept calls that are not on my saved phone list. It is problematic at times like dropping off a car for service and someone calling from the dealership but anyone wanting to reach me can leave a voice mail so I can respond back.

Like a normal person?

My machine picks up after four rings. No caller ID on the land line, which is basically worthless since VOIP calls (most robo-calls) can spoof the caller ID.

I've been getting very few. If I don't recognize the number on the caller ID, I pick up and hang up. When my son calls, the phone has a different ring so I know it's him right away.

Unfortunately, my CPR-Call Blocker doesn't work right. It blocks calls from my cell phone and friends' phones. They used to have great, fast customer service. Now, customer service seems to have shut down. When I got the 10000 model, I gave the 5000 model away - a mistake.
