I just watched a movie on TV a couple of nights ago that I thought was outstanding. I'm not sure how new or old the movie is but the name was, "Operation Mincemeat". It tells of the greatest ruse employed in warfare and was really well done.

Operation Mincemeat there are three films; a Documentary, a 2010 film, and the 2021 film released in 2022.

Just saw this one on one of the streaming channels. It wasn't the documentary. I bet the documentary was well worth watching as well.

The intentional feeding of false plans to an enemy strategy wasn't a new concept but the degree, extent and attention to detail was probably unsurpassed in Operation Mincemeat. Ian Fleming, author of the James Bond novels, was a major player in the Royal Navy Intelligence service and is represented in the film. No detail was too small and as an example the "body" carried several personal letters, one of which was from the father written on headed notepaper from a hotel in the Welsh borders. Since the information became public the hotel register has been checked and the correct name was entered for the corresponding date when the letter was posted during the war just in case the Germans were capable of checking. It isn't always brute force that wins wars.

Haven't seen it, but it sounds like a remake of the 1956 movie "The Man Who Never Was" which I went to see in a real movie theater back in the 1950's.

My wife and I just watched it on Netflix. Really outstanding film that examined all of the excruciating details that were considered to make the plan work by a large group of unsung heroes.

"A Few Good Men"
Great movie, acting, and direction. No gratuitous sex or profanity.
