Sadly only in UHH is this tolerated forever it seems. There does not seem to be any moderators or administrators on duty to ensure decent rules of conduct are maintained. Anything goes here in UHH it seems. Very sad.

In any legit Facebook Photography group, Chg_Canon would be asked to tone it down, or be muted or kick out for many of his comments. Most legit facebook photography groups have strict group rules in place against such behavior in discussions and comments. And anyone who violates those rules of conduct, face the consequences up to and including expulsion from the group.

Chg_Canon knows this is about the only photo forum he can get away with his behavior without any consequences.

There are a host of good knowledgeable, friendly and helpful folks here in UHH like BurkPhoto, one of the best. But sadly folks like Chg_canon give UHH a black eye IMHO.

FYI, I administrate and moderate in several worldwide facebook photography groups, and in none of them would Chg_canon last a week.

Cheers

I especially love your B&W images, including the self portrait. You have inspired me to pick up B&W film again. My first real camera was a Canon AE-1, which quit on me, probably due to wet conditions, during a 7 day hike through the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in New Mexico. It supposedly would cost more to fix it than it was worth, so I never replaced it. At a professional photographer friend recommendation, I got interested in Nikon and have stayed with them ever since. My film workflow is to process my mainly Tri-X 400 B&W film myself using HC110, one of Ansel Adams formulas, take it to digital on a flat bed photo scanner then move it into LrC, PS, Topaz as needed. I don't miss the darkroom. I got a Z9 a couple of months ago and have been putting in a lot of time comparing it to my D850, so I put down my film camera for a bit, but will pick it back up in the next week or two.

Did you suppress your sense of humor by watching 30 hours of 3-stooges and shocking yourself with a cattle prod every time you laughed?

You mention censorship such as Facebook, and your own efforts as “moderator” (a.k.a. Censor).

I am very glad UHH doesn’t generally censor the speech of participants.

You appear not a Free Speech advocate but rather an advocate of only speech which you approve. Have you started an effort to repeal the 1st amendment yet? Chairman Mau if he were alive would approve!

I say to you, if you don’t like a reply then stop reading it. Move on to another one. Leave it for others to decide what they like or don’t like, and stop trying to force your opinions on what is appropriate, onto others.

And lastly , lighten up dude. Life is short, try to enjoy it.

I am not a wildlife photographer [even though I have photographed animals on occasion :-)]. In terms of suitability for my chosen go-to full frame mirrorless devices [Sony a9 and Hasselblad X1D II] - they meet my photography needs and perform superlatively in my studio and at client location sessions. By The Way - That 600 f4 you own has to be a beast. I have shared some images taken with my Sony a9 and Hasselblad X1D II...

Exceptional results bon all 🏆🌿🏆🌿🏆

Seriously, you had to go there?! You just couldn't think of anything worth saying so you had to say the obvious. By the way. It's also a mnemonic.

I've had my Df for some 6 years now and like yourself I was attracted to the similarities to my old mechanical Nikon FE2. I like that it has mechanical controls rather than menus to make adjustments to exposure and I also like that it could accommodate my old mechanical IE lenses.
And by the way Nice shots.

Hi pebbles -

I recall seeing comments from people who never even shot with the Nikon Df complaining that it was simply too 'high priced' [and this just by looking at the camera?]. However, my first hand experience shooting with my Nikon Df since 2015 is that it is a serious performer. The low light performance is excellent - with the modified Nikon D4 sensor inside. The Nikon Df is a true photographer’s camera. With no video mode, retro style and the overall feel of a lighter Nikon full from digital SLR [compared to my long sold Nikon D700 and Nikon D750]. Cut my teeth shooting black and white images with a Nikon F 35mm [way back in the day] before moving to Nikon full frame dSLR's. Especially loved the handheld ambient and low-light capability of the the Nikon D700 or D750. I think some people got side-tracked analyzing the Df to other Nikon models when it was released. The Df is not meant to compete against other Nikon devices, rather other retro cameras at the time - like the Fuji X series and Leicas. There are numerous pointless comparisons between the Df, D750, 6X0 and 8X0 - and I will not trash any of these devices to massage my ego for purchasing a Df [or transitioning to mirrorless]. Again, the Df is a superlative device. So much so it is still in my bag of tricks. Sharing images taken with [and of] the Nikon Df. Perhaps it has been on the shelf too long - feeling nostalgic now...

I like to share thoughts and get pointers from shared experiences in social media forums. One problem is, in some cases, as I have engaged with a forum audience there is always this one person who makes comments so far out of context of the thread I posted - it is beyond my understanding. There are folks who will mention in a forum – repeatedly if needed – that the comments from a buffoon in the thread - are just buffoonish - not a reflection of reality. I have found that character attacks in a public forum are about being intimidated by someone else in the forum. People who feel good about themselves NEVER have to dig a hole for someone so thy feel taller. Writing lies or padding stories cause a credibility problem. I believe it’s not about being right or wrong. If you ignore a troll, you’re taking oxygen away from their fire. Let's use this forum for good photography shares, and rational thought. And having fun shooting! Whether you are a professional or novice photographer.

Cheers!
Greg

I expected no less than your insults and personal attacks, that is how low you regularly sink. Enjoy your fiefdom in UHH.

What a joke.

I enjoy life just fine and I respect people a lot more than many here in UHH it seems . No one said anything about censorship, it is about common decency and respectful discussions, but I guess that is not worth protecting here .

Have it your way. Thank goodness most of facebook photo groups have higher standards, not all but most.

Chg_canon for all the good knowledge and experience he has, he really brings down UHH to the gutter sometimes.

As a career journalist and University Professor I know a bit about the power of words and what they teach us about the person saying them. Chg_Canon's words say the world about him. And I will leave it at that.

I dont expect Chg_Canon or UHH to change for the better.

Cheers

It's my understanding that both Nikon and Canon are discontinuing their DSLR cameras - so there will be no choice - mirrorless or nothing?

I expected a lot more from you. Where's your boasting of how great you are? You barely said anything about your awards, certificates, famous friends, how great you are. Where's your boasting of how great your multiple mirrorless Sony cameras are? Why didn't tell the 'truth' to AGO? Sony is only great because you're the greatest member of this community, bar none, and you only shoot the best. And only full-frame Sony mirrorless is good enough for you. If AGO just spent a moment reading even the first page of the history your posts, AGO would stumble onto your true colors ... AGO, you were warned, if you really plan to travel along with this yahoo. If AGO felt put down from my humor, wait till his jaw bounces off the desktop from reading your posting history.

When I pick up the rocks flying through the windows, they always seem to be coming from gwilliams6. Sad.
