The original subject I posted has been hijacked. I understand a disagreement in context in a public forum, hard to get my head wrapped around why some of the comments are just condescending and mean spirited.

Welcome to page 9 ... also to pages 4 through 8. Original themes generally expire around page 3. Usually any OPs point is made or their question is very well answered on page 1, with some expansion up to around page 3. From there on out its open season. Again, welcome to page 9 :-)

A better camera does not a better photographer. The only photographer you need to compare yourself against is your own last series of photos

I fully agree with you. You don't need new Mirrorless equipment to be a better photographer. I have been an Exclusive Nikon shooter for over 40 years. My fist Nikon in 1979 the FE film camera. My Current camera body's, 2 D500s and a D7500 along with Nikon and Sigma Glass. I have no interest in Mirrorless. For one to expensive and I don't like the EVF! Plus I shoot wedding's and portraiture and have no issues with DSLR camera. Plus I like the solid weighted feel of my D500. I tried the Z7 and Z6 and although lighter I don't like how compact they are my hands don't feel right on the controls. I will say I am very disappointed in Nikon abandoning it's DSLR customers, I think they're making a mistake. I know alot of Nikon fans like me who say the same thing.

I began adding mirrorless camera capability to my bag of tricks in 2017 [with a Sony a7 - which my youngest daughter has permanently borrowed]. I now own a Sony a7II, Sony a9 and Hasselblad X1D II]. Took my time getting used to using mirrorless devices. I have been shooting with Nikon cameras for decades [started shooting in elementary school - my Dad purchased a Nikon F for me when a teen - that camera is still functional by the way]. Because I have so many Nikkor F-Mount lenses, I purchased the Vello Select Nikon F Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera Auto Lens Adapter - used the adapter a couple times on test runs for personal images - never used it on location for clients, or in my studio. In my opinion upgrading to mirrorless technology for photographers is inevitable. Many camera brands are transitioning to flagship mirrorless bodies, it appears the end of the dSLR builds and support from manufacturers is looming.

I thought it was more like the only photographer you need to compare yourself to is the one you were yesterday.

Don't let the photographer you were yesterday stop you from buying a mirrorless camera tomorrow.
