This is one of my favorite goto youtube channels: Tech Gumbo and here's a link to 5 "Best" Free Screen Recorders:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=STKOcVcfMnk

Below the video are also links to tutorials for some of the listed software.

Be well! Ed

I use a software called "Capto" on my imac. It's excellent and really easy to capture any image on your computer screen. It works very well for capturing videos. I recommend it because it is really easy to use.

Tons of software options exist…

SnagIt on PC
MacOS has still and video screen grab built-in, but many more options are available. Screen Flow is one.

I just noticed that the AMD Pro SW that came with my AMD graphics card supports both video and audio recording/frame grabbing. Not sure if if it’s usable on all AMD graphics cards or not…

I don't know whether you are on Windows or a Mac, but this is how I did it on my Macbook, a real quick and dirty technique that will produce a Quicktime movie. I used Shift+comd+5 and told it where to put my video so i could find it later. Yes, there is a way to do it in Windows, just google that you want to record your screen.
Lets see if I can upload the video I did. Well that didn't work, I'll try another route.

Ok, I have had success in uploading a short video to Youtube for you to take a look at. This was done on my Macbook air and there are ways to do it on a Windows machine. I set up a folder on my desktop, designated it where I wanted my video to go and I was off and running. Audio can be added while it's being recorded or if you prefer you can edit it later using one of the many video editing software available. Hope this helps, lots of luck, and keep smiling

It is not included in the AMD s/w that came with the Radeon RX 6700 XT card that is in my machine.

Have you installed and tried the Radeon Pro SW in addition to the driver? https://www.amd.com/en/support/graphics/amd-radeon-6000-series/amd-radeon-6700-series/amd-radeon-rx-6700-xt

It adds a lot of features, configuration and performance monitoring tools. I wonder if your installation package already loaded it along with the driver, but you might not have noticed it - it should show up in your list of programs if so.

I have updated to the version that AMD listed as the only option at the time. There is only one item in the AMD Radeon Software folder. It is named, oddly enough, AMD Radeon Software. I went through all of its options, and none addressed the issue. I will check your link.

1- Nvidia graphics cards come with software that will record the screen to a local MP4 file. I think it may be targeted to gamers but works for anything on screen. I use this regularly because it is so quick to start. ALT+F9 starts and stops it.

2- techsmith makes Camtasia that is "top of the line" software made for people that make tutorials. Many of our famous online teachers use it. I downloaded a trial but never completed it. techsmith also makes a lower priced product called Snagit.

3- https://screencast-o-matic.com/ seems to be popular with teachers. I've used it and it works.

4- If you have a Vimeo account, they have added a screen capture option. I've not tried it yet because I'm using the Nvidia tool.

I'll guess Alt+F9 does nothing on my Dell PC as well as so many others. Win 10 seems to control so many things in a layered fashion that imagine that I would have to do more than that for a video screen capture. I use Print Screen to capture stills but they are only in the low resolution of my standard monitor not the high res I am used to for my still photography.

Update: Like I thought Alt+F9 does nothing on my PC. A quick search reveals I would need a Game Bar for Xbox to do a screen video capture.

When I go to that link under Windows 10, I see 3 files - 2 versions of “AMD SW: Adrenalin Edition” SW, the latest being 22.4.1, and “Radeon Pro SW for Enterprise” - that’s the SW I was referring to.
