Old Car City
White, Georgia
November 2021

Old Car City- Nov 2021 by Paul Sager, on Flickr

Old Car City in White, Georgia is a junk yard featuring 30+ acres, 6+ miles of trails, and 4000ish vehicles from the 1970s going back to the 1920s.

Old Car City- Nov 2021

Old Car City is definitely a place of memories where you might find a car a younger you, your dad, or your grandmother once drove.

Old Car City- Nov 2021

Many of the cars are mossy or half-buried in pine needles and leaf litter. Some have been lifted into the air by the trees that grew beneath them. Others have roots and branches erupting out of engine compartments, trunks, and radiator grills.

Images in this post freely mix scanned negatives from fresh and expired 35mm film along with digital work. All lenses are Canon L-series, with an EOS 1v film body and an EOS 5DIII DSLR. The specific details are available from the Flickr host pages via the URL links of each image title.

Thank you Architect1776, Tom, Joe, Ken, Mike, Rob! I realized last fall I now have hundreds of OCC images that are mostly just running on my digital frame here in Chicago. This group was not even on Flickr until this morning. Another post last week didn't make the digest, in case you didn't see otherwise: https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-732934-1.html

I haven't made it there yet. Nice set of images. My favorite is the doll image.

Thank you Fstop12, Frank, Jim, Earnest! I think I prefer the slightly softer look of the film scans for the nostalgia of these old cars.
