Tree and Rock.

Very usual sky. To my eye it looks like it was painted.
Thanks for commenting, Frank. Much of the editing is a product of AuroraHDR.

Striking image RG!
Thank you Bill. Your compliment is appreciated.
A stark difference from the original. I like the final results, well done on your part.

Well, the tree and bkg. is beautiful but the centered composition and brilliant white is what captures my attention a little too much.

Thank you Gaylord. I'm glad I let AuroraHDR lead me away from the natural look that I usually go for.

Thanks for commenting, Bob. I know that we're usually steered away from centering things too much and if I was doing it all the time ( a common newbee mistake), I'd want to change that. However, as an occasional composition I don't have a problem with it, especially when there's lots to lead the eye round the shot. As for the white, it doesn't look extreme on my monitor and it does fit in with the lighting of the rest of the shot. Broken cloud does produce patchy lighting in reality.

Did you dodge and burn the foreground?? Or just darken and shadows and lighten the highlights. Looks fantastic

I used AuroraHDR to do the merge and some preliminary editing, which included using their Glow slider. I then finished off in Lightroom where I didn't do much to the levels, maybe lifted the shadows a little and tweaked the colours, plus cloned out the contrail. Aurora did quite a good job on the levels. I could probably have just lightened it a little for a similar look.
Fantastic HDR work R.G.
Don
I really like this image. The light is fantastic. The composition is right on.

Good one mate. Plenty of mood and atmosphere with your treatment. Given it a real timelessness. And the "almost" monotone saturation only adds to the overall effect.

Thank you Paul and thanks for commenting. I don't think there's much variation of colour in the original, but in any case I went with what Aurora gave me.
A quite outstanding end result. I like it an awful lot.
