Cranberry Lake sits just 100 yards from the Straight of Juan De Fuca in beautiful Deception Pass S.P.
It would be easy to spend a week shooting all the different areas and features at this gem of the Washington State Parks!
We arrived about 45 minutes before sunset and enjoyed a great walk on the rocky sandy shores.
I only scratch the surface of this wonderful park in this set.

3. These trees grow "with" the high winds, felt frequently in this area. Glassy water is a rare sight here.

7. This rock extends across the beach from the bottom layer of the bluff behind. Granite? Bedrock? any Geologists out there? I was intrigued by it, not the greatest quality image for what little ambient light remained.

Thanks so much Mike! It's an amazing place and we feel so fortunate to have this so close to home.
If you're curious about the area:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deception_Pass I look forward to shooting more of this spectacular place in the near future, hopefully before the masses descend upon it this summer!

Thanks so much for the kind compliment! It's really spectacular Tim! May I recommend you do so mid-week. It can be fairly busy/crowded and especially on weekends.
The Port Townsend-Coupeville ferry would be a great way to come see this and a beautiful drive from Port Orchard!

We love it there! I feel so fortunate that we have so many of these kind of beaches and views, all less than an hours drive.
