With a pig's heart, would you have to cry "wee wee all the way home"?

I have a pigs heart valve and I must say I have a new respect for them, WEE WEE all the way home is a kidney or prostate problem.😀

Jokes aside, I believe that Muslims and Orthodox Jews would accept a porcine heart in order to save a life.
My question is, would a vegan accept it as well?

According to a Rabbi I had talked with some time ago, saving your life allows the use of a non-kosher animal or food.

Our porcine neighbors may have solved the shortage of hearts available for transplant. A pig's heart was successfully transplanted into a person. If I had that done, I would not want people to know. Can you imagine the thousands of jokes?!

I had an aortic valve replacement a few years ago with a cow valve.
Now my wife says I Moo in my sleep and I like nibbling on the grass in the backyard!

The average life span of a pig is 15-20 years. I wonder how long before a pig heart recipient will need another heart?

For many years ago, insulin for diabetics was derived from pig pancreas tissue. When science determined how to make insulin artificially the pig pancreas was discontinued. Also, TriX is right that pig heart valves have often been used in humans. There are numerous pig and cadaver parts that get transplanted to repair problems in humans.

David, I am neither a Muslim nor a Hebrew. I am a Christian that does not eat any form of a pig. I believe anything the Bible tells me and I find the Bible talks about the swine. It tells me to not only avoid it for food but also tells me not to touch it. They are cute little creatures, but I look and do not touch.

Once a scientist who was a Jew questioned his belief in not eating swine so he injected a puree into a 100 mice. Then in another 100 he left alone feeding them the same diet without the 'Puree'. He found all those with the 'Swine Tea' died.

One time when I was a funeral director I took a Baptist clergy to a Forest Lawn cemetery for a committal service. We introduced ourselves and went merrily done the road chattering about everything. When returning home we stopped at a restaurant, had lunch, he ordered a hamburger. Don't remember what I ordered but he hesitated saying he was going to see what I ordered. Then I told him I also was waiting to see if he would ask the blessing for eating, he did. When his order came he had thanked our Lord before eating then his face became so red. I asked him what was wrong. He added that he never, never, ever had bacon on the same plate as his hamburger. He wanted to know what to do. I told him if it was me I would just eat the hamburger and leave the bacon there. This he did. Then he told me that his church doesn't teach against eating swine, however he had always stayed away from pig because it's in the Bible and juussst maaybe something about the pig that is not right. He and I chuckled about it then continued with something else.

I really appreciate knowing people of conviction even tho' I may not hold the same conviction. I have Muslim friends, Jewish friends and many other kinds of friends who I admire because of their convictions. I even have an atheist friend who I disagree with but admire because he is a very good person with good morals.
