Our porcine neighbors may have solved the shortage of hearts available for transplant. A pig's heart was successfully transplanted into a person. If I had that done, I would not want people to know. Can you imagine the thousands of jokes?!

Jokes aside, I believe that Muslims and Orthodox Jews would accept a porcine heart in order to save a life.
My question is, would a vegan accept it as well?
If you look inside the pig's abdomen, the organs look like those of a human. (evolution at work)! It seemed logical that with gene manipulation, the pig was a good candidate for a heart donor. And, this is only the beginning!
In biology classes pigs are the favored dissection animals because their anatomy is so close to a human.

There's a big difference between choosing a luncheon item and getting medical treatment to stay alive. At least I hope people would accept any usable heart to keep them alive.
On the other hand, there are countless horror movies about people getting hearts from bad people. : )

Well, yes. That's true. And because of that they might taste good too. Used to be, that cannibals, on isolated islands called their human victims "long pigs".

Would a vegan accept a human heart transplant? Or would (s)he demand a celery heart? Heart of palm? Beef Hearts (Old baked bean joke)?
With a pig's heart, would you have to cry "wee wee all the way home"?
