Did you like the Super Bowl halftime show?

Not my kind of music but I thought it was well staged. I’ve heard a lot of people complain about the lyrics and I know that hip-hop lyrics can be offensive so I turned on the closed captions. I didn't see/hear anything “vulgar”. My kids, in their 40s, liked it.

That is not music it is crap who can understand a word and how could you ever dance, the NFL has a very poor track record as far as Super Bowl half time shows are concerned.

Although it offered a supposedly stellar lineup, I wasn't overly impressed by the half time "music." I can somewhat appreciate Rap and Hip Hop but the performances all seemed to consist of the usual dark narratives, offered with an uninteresting, pounding orchestral beat, "sung" by performers who expressed their emotion by grabbing their crotch every few seconds while surrounded by dancers twerking, grinding and making lewd contortions.

I was, however, impressed by the '60's Impala convertibles parked in the front.

I did not watch the Super Bowl and never have, I do watch the ads, I did happen to catch some of the halftime show and I agree as well on the halftime show. I had a 64 Chev impala SS baby blue, 396 4 speed, and Black leather interior semi bucket seats in the back, what a ride wish I still had it.

Why would you reply to a thread expressly addressing the SB halftime show if you never watch any NFL games?

It was just ok. That kind of music is not something I listen to.

I guess you answered that yourself, the thread was not about the SB games, it was about the halftime show, the cars caught my attention, I was watching "Gun Smoke" and flipped over to try to catch an ad.

Why would anyone think you would like it. It was black, you are white. It was younger, you are not. It would never appeal to you.

I would love to comment to this statement; but, once again, better judgement gets in the way.

Music and lyrics are much like poetry they are a conveyance of someone’s feelings to anyone reading or listening. If the sound is unpleasant or you can’t understand the words or lyrics there is no understanding of the feeling trying to be expressed. Therefore, to me it has never been whom is writing, playing or singing it is about being a pleasing sound or understandable words. Just because I do not feel a performance doesn’t mean that someone else doesn’t.

My wife and I ate dinner during the halftime show and never felt the need to glance over to the TV whose volume was muted.
