Two canon prime lenses I have been waiting for months to be in stock at BnH are offered on Amazon. It’s about $8,000 for both of them.
Just wondering if anyone here has ordered lenses from Amazon and who is the supplier of the lenses?

I have bought from B&C in LV, Glazer's in Seattle; both reputable

The lens arrived on my door step at 6:30 pm. Another nice feature of Amazon is they sent an email and my Amazon Echos flashed letting me know it arrived. The USA warranty was the first thing I saw when I opened the box.

I would too if we had one besides BestBuy. Before I retired and moved from New York, B&H was my brick and mortar retailer. So B&H is both a very large brick and mortar and an online retaler. I worked close enough to Nikon in Melville I could go there on my lunch hour. I didn't realize how much I would miss those 2 places.

I bought my Nikon D850 around Thanksgiving last year from a local, brick and mortar store, trying to help them stay in business. I could have saved tax with B&H's credit card and paying it off, but I would have felt guilty. Those local guys have to survive and feed their families. I won't say that I never buy camera equipment online, even from Amazon, but most of what I've bought has been used equipment from Japanese sources. They really take care of their stuff over there.

the one neat thing about Amazon is all the assorted accessories, like generic batteries and chargers; now stores carry them, but not so much, before. little stuff like disc pouches that fit on your strap.

I don't like these new ways but what are you going to do? At one time our community had 3 very nice camera stores. Now we have none and it must not be just us because you need to drive 90 miles through maybe a dozen communities with no camera shops to get to your first one. Sad, sad, sad!

A few years back I ordered a Canon L glass lens from Amazon.
This was when I was new to digital and was very frustrated with "Abe's" and others playing their "bait and switch" and factory-packed boxes with all of the extras plundered.
My Canon "L" glass came from Adorama and arrived with the Foot Mount, both caps, Lens Shade, and most importantly . . . a USA Warranty card.

Yup, better lenses come to those of us who wait for quality, rather than a quick fix to our anticipation.

My rule of thumb when ordering from Amazon is it must say "Sold by Amazon" + "Shipped by Amazon".

Third party sellers can be questionable, so I usually avoid them.

I've never ordered lenses or camera bodies from Amazon but I have ordered lighting and other equipment. They have always provided me with prompt delivery and quality merchandise.
