I agree with Bill's response as well. If it says sold and shipped by Amazon, you are protected.

Two canon prime lenses I have been waiting for months to be in stock at BnH are offered on Amazon. It’s about $8,000 for both of them.
Just wondering if anyone here has ordered lenses from Amazon and who is the supplier of the lenses?
VARIOUS - Read any offerings carefully, it should say somewhere in the ad (or the reviews/questions/answers). I'm w/Amazon Prime and any issues I've encountered were quickly rectified, and/or returns/refunds without any negative issues for me (other than the corrective effort of a return, pack & ship and such...but they have always paid for any returns/provided UPS Pickup, etc., and credited my account to my method of choice) With that kind of high dollar amount you are wise to dig deep (my purchases of several used Canon and Sony lenses were much smaller dollar amounts)!!! I've found that sticking with items deliverd from Amazon.com, or well known major suppliers (regardless of item type) with clearly stated free shipping and free returns to be the best way to go.
Due diligence has protected me from any "Knock-offs" or fakes, be it camera gear/auto parts/electronics/you name it, and when in doubt, question the seller, no reply or wrong reply - me no buy!

I've only purchased one thru Amazon, the Mitokon 20mm macro, and I'm pretty certain it came from Adorama.

Same here. In fact, I no longer buy anything of value at Amazon. There are so many fakes, knock-offs, and grey-market items being sold on Amazon. I only buy at B&H or Precision Camera in Austin, my local camera store.

I've bought two lenses from Amazon. They both came from Adorama. You have to be careful if you don't want to buy gray market goods. The biggest clue is that they prices of gray market goods tend to be discounted below the price set by the manufacturer/importer.
I have purchased several lenses on Amazon with no problems and are not gray market.

Third party sellers can be questionable, so I usually avoid them.

But Hunt's, B&H, Adorama and other reputable merchants sell on the Amazon platform too.
I haven't ordered lenses from Amazon. But I have ordered studio equipment. Their shipment was prompt. Their prices were reasonable. And they sent me a quality product.

Yep! I learned the hard way!

That's true. That's why I said "can" be questionable. Amazon shows you the name of the seller before you place the order. So, if it someone you know and trust there is no issue.

Even the notorious "Abe's of Maine" has sold on Amazon, and I've actually, successfully bought from them on Amazon without their typical shenanigans!
Make sure it's not gray market. I made that mistake with a Tamron lens and couldn't get the warranty.
I believe you can return anything purchased at Amazon within 30 days of the purchase. No questions asked?? Can you evaluate the Lenses within that window?? If you can, why not make the purchase??
