Yucca blooms with a birds nest at White Sands

These last two are of a plant called a Stapilia, also called a "Carrion" plant. I call it the "Body Snatcher" plant after the movie of the same name. This is the shriveled bloom pod.

The plant has a really large bloom that smells just like a dead rat! And looks all veiny and hairy inside.
