About to put a roll of 35mm 400 film that expired in 1998, into my father-in-laws Pentax ME Super, gifted to me by roy mother-in-law, after the formers passing last week.

Welcome: I am happy to hear you are trying film. Did you also get the darkroom equipment? If so, did your father in law mix his own chemicals from scratch? If so, he had formula books. Also you need a standard triple beam balance and some temp controls---like a hot plate. With such old film---I would develop with an anti-fog agent. With such a fast film---probably D-76 rather than a finer grain dev. such as Microdol. Did you get the smaller stainless developing tanks and reels? Unfortunately, on UHH you will only find bickering, arguing, and intransigent opinions from old codgers. Of course I am one of them, also.----ew
