Google Photos or Amazon Photos (if you have an Amazon Prime account) - in either case you can put the photos you want share into an album and then send a link to the album to friends or family in a text message or in an email.
If you have Amazon Prime, try Amazon Photos. I like putting some their because if you have an Amazon Fire TV device, it makes it easy to present slideshows on your big TV.
If you are interested in allowing your family and friends to view and print out your photos, then upload them to a photo printing site such as Walmart Photo, Snapfish, Shutterfly, etc.
If you are interested in building a free website for displaying your photos, here are some resources to begin to use templates and site builders. Or if you have a child or grandchild or would be glad to do this for you, check these and other webpages out.

Google photos used to be unlimited if you stored slightly reduced res photos - that is no longer true - there is presently a limit (don't recall the exact numbers) after which you need to purhase added storage. But the added storage is really pretty inexpensive so not too big a deal.

Flickr isn't owned by Facebook or Twitter correct?
I'm surprised nobody mentioned Facebook. I think it's great for sharing photos as (almost) everyone has it. And those who don't can get it for free.

Read their TOS and maybe you will understand why no-one mentioned them.

Flicker was acquired by SmugMug in April of 2018.
Changes were made. A Flicker Pro account is now required to get the 1TB of storage or to store over 1000 photos. The free option is now limited to 1000 photos or videos stored, with videos limited to 3 minutes."
