Thanks for sharing your photographs of a 1957 line of cars. I cannot recall ever seeing a 1957 Pontiac Starchief on the road. What a beauty!

The 1957 Pontiac Star Chief in the last photo is actually the quite rare and now highly valued Safari model, an equivalent to the Chevrolet Nomad. Only 1292 were produced and the current price guides suggest a top condition price at over $250,000! A similar 4dr version of the wagon named the Safari Transcontinental is not as valued by collectors and can be purchased in the $50-60,000 range.

I've always like '57 Chevys. I owned a black '57 Vette just like the one in your photo. I've been regretting selling that car for years. They only built about 3400 of them, and many were turned into race cars. Many more were destroyed, and the remaining ones have risen in value. I also owned a '67 Porsche air cooled 911. Those early models are worth in excess of $100,000 dollars. I paid $5,000 for mine. The guy I sold it to put it ass-end into a tree and it was totaled. Oh well. Stuff happens. Love your photos.

The 57 model year was stellar for GM and Ford.

I always find the Canadian version of Fords interesting, as I do this one. Thanks KT.

Look at the bumpers on these cars. They're enormous! How many times "back in the day" did you push a car to get it started or get it off the road ? "Do the bumpers line up?" OK, let 'er rip. A common occurrence. I've often wondered if bumpers would make a come back. I doubt it. There's way too much money to be made on repairs of dents, dings and scratches on modern "bumperless" cars. I love chrome...bright shiny chrome and for years manufacturers kept stripping the chrome away until recently it's been making a comeback. And wheels (I'm going to make enemies here...sorry) what's with new modern cars and expensive "supercars" even, with BLACK wheels !!! I PERSONALLY find them appalling!!! I know I'm old, but... a beautiful Lamborghini Aventador with BLACK wheels...YUCK!!!! To me it looks like someone took a $5 can of spray paint to the wheels !! So many beautiful cars with BLACK wheels !!!! I feel much better, thank you.
