You are so right! What has happened to our basic principles of right and wrong, and the importance of Truth, especially by people in power! It`s scary.
I totally agree and second the reply: How about just "common sense!"
Be well!

I have a 40 year old niece who is very smart and well educated. She is a nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit at the Oakland Children’s hospital. She recently told me she doesn’t believe we really landed on the moon.
Go figure.

Well, she may be correct. You and I have not landed on the moon.
I'll bet she has never seen in person a rocket launch at Cape Canaveral. Or even atomic particles. If it is not seen or experienced, it never existed or happened. Bet she has not seen the penetration of an egg by the sperm in a uterus. Maybe on a video? I have seen storks on nests on chimneys, but I will admit that I have not seen the square sheets to hold the "bundle".
Seriously, remind her that the equipment used in the neonatal room is a direct result of the NASA moon missions accomplishments.
Query: Are you sure that she is your neice?
Ed. Note: All above spoken with humor intended.
So, who is paying for the boxes---the school or the furries?
Apparently, she never developed critical thinking skills during her years in academia.

I can’t disagree but how do we fix this?
Getting rid of nonsense in media probably will never be done. When people can't get their attention off their smart phone long enough to carry on a conversation with those around the table, there seems to be a need for constant info feed.
Yes…there's a lot of stupidity going on and it knows no boundaries as to race, creed, religion or any other way to classify people…I've been very fond of saying "people are stupid" for many years and while it isn't universally true of course it sure seems like it's in the majority.
The education system has definitely gotten worse since I was in it…but that's only part of the problem. The extreme positions taken on just about any issue one can imagine, the complete loss of any interest in doing what's right instead of what makes your opponent look bad, and the tendency of people of any belief to get into their own echo chamber and convince themselves that everybody else is wrong is a larger contributor IMO.

Not quite so fake. A Chicago substitute teacher was fired for not meowing back to a student that identified as a cat.
