Yes, Staples does accept them and will give you $2.00 credit for each one. There are some stipulations. You can only recycle 10 per month and you must have spent a certain amount of cartridges at Staples.

My experience is that after turning them in several times, my account is not always credited. So, save your receipt.

I've given up on Staples. I had about $20 credit with them for some reason, maybe ink cartridges. When I tried to use the credit, it had expired.

I order them through employee shopping (32 year employee) and get a decent price. They send a prepaid envelope to send empty to a recycling place.
Cartridges are one thing iget a good price, no shipping, 2 -3 day delivery.

Another option is donating them to a school. The school my daughter works at recycles cartridges and gets a small amount for each one.

Try a cartridge buy-back site

Some websites will buy empty cartridges from you as well. And they’re actually willing to pay quite nicely for them. Sites like NeedEmpty, UsRecycleInk and Evolve Recycling will mail you a check when the balance exceeds a certain amount. This amount varies from site to site, but they tend to pay more for laser printer cartridges.

Some office supply stores will offer credits on empty cartridges.

will

I throw throw them away & purchase new 1s?

I didn't want to admit that. With my Epson ink tank printer, I seldom have empty cartridges - just from the HP.

If I need to buy a new printer it'll be a HP Smart Tank Printers.
This cartridge printer I have now has been going strong for over 8+ years.

This may be a good idea, since i pay near $90 +/- for the Hp color set. Yes, they got me but the printer does the job.

Speaking of OfficeMax, and sister store Staples, they are the only places in my small town where I can buy the Epson 220 cartridges. I use the cartridge return process every time I get enough empties to get the maximum rebate. The problem is, these stores no longer stock individual color cartridges - one has to buy the 3-Color Boxed set. So even though the $20 rebate covers a good bit of the 3-Color set, I end up with multiples of the color that is the least used in my printing. I now have four Yellows accumulated. I suppose I need to print some graphics that have dominant colors with a yellow component (sigh). . . .

Stan, try ordering online. I order all my cartridges from Staples online. They generally arrive the next day and the choice is good.

I've also had experiences where I did not get credited.

After writing my previous post, it occurred to me that I haven't received credit for cartridges I turned in over a month ago. When I explained that this has happened before, the person I spoke to took some time to look into it. He found that a link was missing from my account that is needed to automatically credit the cartridges. He fixed it and it should solve the problem.
