I’m sorry but I would be suspicious of the source of your ink supply. I have only ever used OEM Canon inks purchased from B&H in New York. I have framed and unframed prints that have been exposed to strong daylight for more than several years and they exhibit no sign of fading.

I usually order them from Canon. Occasionally I get them from Staples, but they ship to me directly from Canon. I have to assume they're the real thing.

Canon ink? Cheaper ink...????

Canon ink. Only once did I get off-brand, and returned it immediately!

I have and use a Pro100, and have no problems with color or longevity of prints. Instead of printing from Windows, you might wish to try using the Canon Print driver or Canon's free print software "Print Studio Pro". Alternatively, the printing program I've used for the last 10 years or so is Qimage which does a remarkably good job. An overall printing solution means using a color calibrated monitor, and print profiles for the paper you're using.

Hope this was helpful.

Thanks for the response, Bill. I've toyed with downloading the Canon printing program, but since I was getting excellent prints without it, I never did. The colour prints match my monitor exactly. I'm using Canon paper and tell the printer which paper I'm using, so may I assume the printer gets that right?

One note about downloading ICC profiles and using them to print from Lightroom is that you need to reboot LR to be able to see the new profile(s) in the print module.

I tried that with Costco's printing profiles, and never could see that anything changed. I downloaded Red River's profile for their card papers. I never could find it later, but they printed fine without it.

B&H is a good source, but for the same price you can buy directly from Canon (frequently with a giveaway packet of paper):

But, if you mount and frame a print - even with a dye-type ink such as the Pro-100 - almost any glazing material will cut the UV exposure and hence the fading. UV blocking glass is best, but there are also UV blocking acrylics that are very good, and considered archival.

An unmounted print "laying around on the piano..." is exposed to all sorts of issues that will cause fading, wholly dependent on the environment.

You're right about framed prints. All of my framed work seems to be fine. I use museum glass on nearly all my framed pieces. The ones I'm concerned about are the prints that are just mounted and matted. I did read that prints should sit for 24 hours before doing anything with them. I honestly didn't notice it until I have a print that was laid on top of another print. After a week, the bottom print had a definite line at the overlap! And I put small prints on my piano so that I can look at them in passing over time. They REALLY fade. (All still on Canon paper.)

As far as blue tint goes, first I would do a nozzle check & if that is good, make sure you are only using one source to control the color. Also, is your monitor calibrated?

You can go to the RR website & download their ICC files.

The Canon drivers do open. (I've never figured out how to use ICC profiles.) And it's when I select B&W that I get a blue print. If I don't, I get a sepia print.

Check out this guys u-tube channel. He has FB forum also. Also Red River will have instructions for downloading ICC profiles.

The monitor isn't calibrated, but the colour prints are a perfect match to it. It's something about how the B&W prints that's the problem. I know that I'm only supposed to use one source for colour management, and I have two questions about that. If I'm printing from Windows, then obviously the only control is the printer, right? Second, I have NEVER figured out how to turn off colour management on the printer when trying to use LR for printing. I follow the directions specifically, but the command that I'm supposed to turn off (or on?) simply isn't there. But it is never a problem on colour prints.
