If you are looking for an inexpensive webcam for a Windows computer, search on Amazon for "Jelly Comb" webcam. The one I have does not have autofocus, but they do make one. I got two of them at the beginning of the pandemic, primarily for use with Zoom. They have worked without problem for the last couple of years.

I don't know if that's a Windows or iMac but if it's Windows 10 or 11, there is a built in Camera app. Just open up the Camera app and it should connect to your webcam. I would think this would work for you if the camera will focus up close. Good luck.
