I am looking for a Web camera that I can use WITHOUT using Face time, Zoom etc. or any other video conf. software.
The camera I have did not come with software and they provide NONE
Any ideas ?
Okay it looks like I need to provide more information!!
I want to use it to read/ view small items & print on my computer.
My price range is $40 or less and it needs autofocus and close focus.
I don't need speakers or mic.

Any web cam does not have to be configured for any program. A web cam is just a piece of hardware or tool. Just because you have a hammer in your tool box does not mean you have to use it. Face time is a program and if you don't want to use it then don't. If you want to use the web cam for Face time then configure it in Face time. If you have 2 or more web cams then configure the one you wish the program to use.

The camera has to be used with some form of software,
otherwise it will just sit there.

What do you want to use it for?
Looks good but too big and expensive.

The camera in my laptop did not "come with software", other than the setup criteria for use and adjustment of operation. The manufacturer has no idea how anyone would want to utilize the camera.
It is simply provided as a peripheral, like a thumb-pad (which I do not use); numeric keypad (which is a must have for me), the extra connectors on the side of the computer, etc.
The manufacturer leaves it up to the user as to how the peripherals may be utilized, or not.
Logitech software is almost foolproof...

I use a magnifying glass.

There are more features than I need and the cost is much more than I want to spend.
It would be interesting if Word had an option, when selecting "Insert Picture From", allowed one to select "camera". Maybe a photo editor might?
I never tried any of those. My camera is built in the top of the display, so I cannot use it easily how you intend to do. Which now that you explained it, we understand more.

Check my last post
I guess I should have explained myself better or in more detail.
Please don't suggest electronic scales!!! they cost way too much for my limited reloading.
