I bought a web cam for my wife’s computer (Win10) and all I needed was the correct driver which was provided by Microsoft. I didn’t need any software other than the driver.
When I look at your example photo it looks like you’re using Win7?
When you plug in the usb cord does the laptop recognize the hardware on that port? You can tell by looking in the Explorer window. It should be listed there.

Did you read any of the other post?
I am using a MacBook Pro.

Looks good but too big and expensive.

"Logitech C920 Pro HD Webcam with Microphone, 1080p 30 FPS Widescreen Video Calling and Recording Zoom Camera | JG Superstore by Juan Gadget". I bought last October; current price is $63, with shipping (to me, in the Philippines), and very good software can be downloaded from the website. It's a very good camera - and included microphone! (I bought it through Lazada.)

Have you simply tried to use ctrl+ and ctrl- to expand and contract the screen contents? ctrl0 will bring you back to normal aspect quickly.

Hi Frank,
I have a Logitech 9000 Pro. Very old but works flawlessly. Has a Zeiss Lens, hangs on top of my monitor. Ebay has a bunch.

I already have the camera, but could only get it to connect to the computer using FaceTime, could not find software to do the job, Bebulamar said something about an APP. and woke me up, I wasn't using the proper terms when doing a search.
I found what I needed and it was FREE wheeeeeeeee. Everything is working great.

I had not used my web cam for about 10 years, bought when I lived in NC. I moved back to NJ in 2011. My "old NJ teacher buddies", wanted to do a weekly Zoom when the Pandemic hit. I found my old Logitech Pro in a box and connected it, but it did not work. Took me while to find and download the software from Logitech, but subsequently and still to this day, it works flawlessly! Yea for good old friends, both human and electronic!!

My first web cam many years ago came with software installed and you were up and running> Now days My iMac , Mac Book Pro, Thunderbolt Display and Windows laptop all have built in cams so when I bought this one I didn't even think about software, Oh well its working now. Live and learn.

Can you take a photo with your phone and transfer it to the computer. I can share files from my Android phone to my computer via an email client - e.g. Gmail.

I am looking for a Web camera that I can use WITHOUT using Face time, Zoom etc. or any other video conf. software.
The camera I have did not come with software and they provide NONE
Any ideas ?
Okay it looks like I need to provide more information!!
I want to use it to read/ view small items & print on my computer.
My price range is $40 or less and it needs autofocus and close focus.
I don't need speakers or mic.

Why not use your cell phone? Takes pics. My cheap LG has an 8MB camera, gets as close as 2-3," can email the images to yourself or store on device and can be configured for a printer.

Be well! Ed
