I used to like solving some of those problems. Not anymore. I tried for 3 weeks once to replace a modem in a PC. Finally tracked down the solution. Windows didn’t like having the two drivers on the HD. Had to delete the old modem and it’s driver, shut down, boot back up with no modem, shut down again, install the new modem and boot up again. Bingo.

Amazing how "simple" some things are....

In ye olden days they used to sell software with the instructions of "Simply Type Install".
Yea, right. I loved that!

Problems? I have no problems with Quicken.

Problems migrating any software can happen.

I have been using Quicken since it was on floppy discs.
As an former Tax Accountant and Corp. CFO I find it invaluable tool for managing personal finance.

I've been using Quicken for years, and it's great for keeping track not only of money spent, but of what it was spent on. If I want to know what brand or model I bought, I can look it up on Quicken. The scary thing is seeing how much money I spent in the past year for certain things - tools, cameras, cars, etc. It really adds up over a year.

I used Quicken for 10 years when working for myself. Found it easy to pick up from novice status.
What I saw of MYOB, closest competitor back then, was more clumsy to use.

And the updates probably just add a few financial institutions that nobody used. 😏😏

Yeah. I never bother connecting Quicken to an online bank. I'd rather make the entries myself.

The advantage of connecting to financial institutions is the ability to review transactions on a timely basis.
An unknown entry may point to unauthorized usage.

I look at my bank and credit cards every day online. It sure beats waiting for the paper statement to arrive once a month.

When Quicken initiated their annual subscription nonsense I left them and went to the excellent free financial software "Moneyspire".

I check my card usage on-line every day or three.
Doing so would catch any bogie charges quicker.

Why do the annual subscription?
My quicken is a 2007 stand alone.
It does what I need.
Works fine and evidently lasts a long time.

Actually, Synchrony bank is very good at watching my account, and they occasionally call or email and ask if a charge is legitimate. They get stuck with bogus charges, so they are protecting themselves.

I had that happen years ago during a trip to Maine.
Our bank called my cell and questioned three charges from England that were done about 2 in the morning, for internet services I believe.
They stopped those charges and closed the account and over-nighted new cards to us.
