Microcenter corporation... DO NOT purchase anything on line from them.
Although I've never purchased from MC on their website being I'm only a 10 min. ride (once on the highway) to their Paterson, NJ store. Never had a problem with anything I've purchases or had to return. Good luck with your issue.
Interesting. I have a Microcenter store exactly 2 miles from my house. My dealings with them also have been stellar. However, you now have my curiosity peaking since I have purchased some inland products from them. I just do not know what they were. It was never any drives or such. Hmmm...

I have done some research on this company after purchasing a newer internal 2TB NVMe SSD made or sold under 'Inland'.
I purchased it online from microcenter store on Amazon. The drive failed after two months while I was in France. I had to wait until I was back to deal with it. Low and behold I came to realize there was no support from that company, no information on Inland and no warranty whatsoever. I dug more and realized that I was not the only one having this type of problem with microcenter.
Unless you live near a microcenter brick and mortar, and even then they will only give you a store credit. In one particular case, a client had an issue with something that failed after a couple of months. Their solution was of course 'store credit'. The same item was still on sale, but an exchange was not allowed. The reason? The sales price had risen.
So now I am out $289.00. I will regularly remind folks of this issue that show the dishonesty of this corporation. Oh, and there is no phone number to call to either, so forget any chance to solve this, even on Amazon.

No history of any kind and still you bought? Amazon luvs you. It is your best friend. Send it money.
The responsibility is up to you to research the product before you buy it Microcenter was not dishonest or irresponsible.

We have a Microcenter about 25 mi away in the south Denver area. In general, when I’ve purchased from them, I’ve been satisfied. However, there is always an exception. Twice I’ve had to return and was met with a look like I was some sort of criminal. Like every other merchant, caveat emptor.
I live near a Microcenter store and love it. Sales people are very knowledgeable, prices are good, and service is outstanding. Far better than Newegg for computer gear. However, Inland products are junk. Cheaply made for a price. I agree with TriX, use Samsung and Intel for SSD's.
Read the post and replies. Microcenter has been in metro ATL for decades. I continue to buy from them locally. And got a $1100 Lenovo laptop for my wife less than 1 year ago. No problem. Generally knowledgeable and helpful. Service can be more difficult. They can't seem to hire enough techs to handle the workload coming to their stores.
The pressure on Micro Center has increased with the near collapse of Fry's. Fry's keep expanding their product lines into furniture, TV sets, major appliances, home appliances, etc. and then couldn't keep competitive with the big box appliance stores of the time. - So, now Micro Center is the largest computer and accessories stores in the area.
They are my number one place I buy laptops , desktops , computer parts if I need them in a hurry . Even though I have to drive several miles . I have only had problems with their brand of cheap flash drives . Which I no longer buy . I use Sandisk Extreme Pro flash drives , they are very fast , Tom's Computer Repair
Sorry about the bad luck you had with them . Tommy
This is not about 'bad luck' but a deliberate issue to not support items that should be under a manufacturer warranty. They are the one producing this SSD, no one else. A search on the manufacturer leads straight to microcenter.
Also seeing other folks experience both in store (credit only) and online (no support) shows that if microcenter was once a great store now it less than that.
I am in contact with Amazon to try to get this resolved.

Rongnongno my experience with MicroCenter has been absolutely stellar...
My studio is less than a 20 minute drive from one of their major outlets.
I've purchased at least seven refurbished PC's from them... All have been amazing.
Yes after a half dozen years or so of 7/24 service two had hard drive failures.
However the units came with a backup OS Installation CD and I was back up running after swapping out the failed hard drive. The instation on the new drive was a seamless cake walk! All device drivers where on the CD!
Since I live just outside of DC this MicroCenter receives lots of lightly used Federal Government PCs (assume they were leased) and I have scored some epic deals on HP towers.
Sorry you're not pleased with your experience however I did want to share mine since it is 180 degrees from your take on MicroCenter. I highly recommend MicroCenter especially for refurbs, and their totally awesome pricing...
Just to add some clarity here I worked as Network Administrator for Computer Associates out of Islandia NY for nearly a decade. Yes I'm a Microsoft Certified Network Engineer... After that stint with CA I went on to teach Network Engineer for the Chubb Institute here where I live.
Not a nob, but rather a well seasoned computer specialist who has taught the craft to hundreds of students in an academic scenario... As such I speak from way over two decades of actual hands on experience in the craft of Network Engineering...
Wishing you a happy, healthy and joyful Holiday Season Rongnongno.
Trust that you are able to share it with Family and Friends...
Cheers! Thomas

Hi Thomas,
Just a quick comment.
I live near a microcenter on Long Island. And I sometimes visit their stores in queens,ny and Yonkers,ny.
And Thomas, I have to agree completely with your experiences.
I have dealt with them for at least 18 years. Never a problem, always got a cash or charge refund.
I have never ordered anything on line from them. So, I can’t comment on the posters troubles.
But, It’s harsh to downgrade an entire company, due to one bad experience.
We all have a bad day, maybe the person that was at microcenter, that day was not in a good mood, or not having a good day? Or maybe the poster approached the problem with hostility?
Anyway…
Happy new year to all the hoggers, and in particular, Thomas, thanks for another year of solid and sage advice.

Jacque, I get your pain, but just to clarify, Microcenter didn’t produce the SSD - they are not a foundry. It is produced in a foundry and then packaged with a logo, perhaps to their specifications, somewhere off shore (probably China) and sold by Microcenter. Since Microcenter’s 30 day exchange policy has expired, it seems that your recourse is to the manufacturer (unless Amazon will help you). Good luck!

The moral to this story is to buy your SSDs from a well known manufacturer with a MANUFACTURER’S warranty such as Samsung or Intel.
I completely agree. I only buy "name brand" SSDs from known manufacturers where I can check their recent and historic feedback from customers, hopefully happy. A SSD is too important to get from a questionable brand name, questionable service/support. This is a critical part of my computer system (anything inside the 'box' is critical) for second or third class components.
For a SSD or Hard Drive, look for MTBFs (mean time between failures) for this component and this manufacturer in general. It helps me make wise decisions.
"From what I can tell they are MicroCenters house brand. You can find these drives in the actual store, their online store,Amazon, and a few other websites. It posts decent read speeds. 520 MB/s read and I think 490 MB/s write. But a big red flag is how cheap it is. Could the cheap cost be due to the fact that it’s only 512 GB and is DRAM-less? I hope this isn’t a case of buyers finding out it’s just a bunch of SD cards or USB memory sticks glued onto a SSD board."
Result of a new search.
I buy a lot on Amazon, usually name brand things that I buy frequently, that's more convenient to have delivered. If it's a one-off new thingy I will buy only if it's returnable.
