Well, you could always provide the photographers with quiet cameras. I'm sure they'd appreciate your contribution to their careers.

I realize that it's not as bad as the old days with mechanical motor drives, but does that mean we need to settle for what photogs are using today when there are alternatives that provide silent photography. One gentleman suggested that I should watch golf if I wanted quiet. One of the things that contributes to that quietness is that photographers with loud mechnical shutters shooting in burst mode are not allowed.

I was watching President Biden's speech this morning that dealt with how the government was going to help the people displaced by the recent tornadoes. I'm not a fan of President Biden or big government, but I did want to hear what his position was regarding aid to the displaced. I found the clatter of mechanical shutters a constant distraction. I would think that with all of the mirrorless cameras with electronic shutters available to "these professionals" that they would consider selecting one of the mirrorless cameras for silent shooting. What say you?

All president handlers what the public to view their president as very popular and important. When he speaks, they want the public to think that there is a LOT of press covering their very important president. So, the noise. What if there was no noise, the public impression then would be that the press is absent, and if the press is absent, then what the president is saying must not be important, or popular, or strong, or god forbid, electable.
So, put on your big boy pants and move on.

The future is not made of the same stuff as the present, the future does not have mirrors.

I often wonder why there has to be absolute silence at a golf match when the golfer is hitting a ball that is standing still, while at a baseball game the crowd is yelling and twirliing rally rags while a batter is facing a pitcher about to hurl a 90 mile an hour plus baseball at him. The good news about the ball game is, you can not hear the shutter clicks.

Unfortunately many folks here cannot afford or want a mirrorless camera. It is fortunate for them that their current DSLR will probably outlive them.
Personally, after using mirrorless for over two years, they produce no sharper images than I can get with my D5, D850, or D500.
Yes, there are many advantages using mirrorless, but they produce no sharper images than folks can get with their current DSLR.
So, again, for many here, not including me, the future will continue to have a mirror.
Hope your not too upset by this news.

If you can't feel that an image came from a mirrorless camera, it probably didn't.

I am always amused by the whispering golf commentators because they aren’t really at the scene; rather, they are in a tv booth somewhere. Why don’t they just talk?

When the new models ended, DLSRs passed into legend. And mirrors became myth. And by 2023 only those with the longest beards could remember a time when photography was limited by mirrors.

Yes I totally agree. Tennis is the same way. These country club athletes need to toughen up and learn to concentrate through the noise just like in most other sports

You are drinking too much "techno-babble" kool-aid. Flash guns were very prominent at press conferences and nobody cared. Most in attendance have already made up their minds concerning what they might hear.
