Will A Mirror Lens On A Mirrorless Camera...
...cause the planet to implode?
NikonRumors is reporting a Tokina 400mm f/8 mirror lens is coming soon for both the Nikon F and Z mounts.
They are also reporting a new Nikkor Z 28-75mm f/2.8 zoom is to be announced later today, based on the same spec Tamron lens. They say that the fact that it hadn't previously been included on the Z lens roadmap might be due to the Tamron pedigree...although it is supposed to be labeled Nikkor. The price is expected to be $1199.
They also say a development announcement for a Z 800mm lens may be coming soon.

It won't affect the planet, but you won't have a mirrorless camera any more. CHG_CAÑON will shun you.

CHG_CAÑON is NOT an expert on mirrorless camera's, he just thinks he is.
Paul, having a mirror lens on a mirrorless camera does not mean you are not shooting mirrorless anymore.

I don't know about that. He knows what he is talking about.
Certainty, Boldness and Confidence are the common attributes of all those who go mirrorless.

When I was in college I learned that if you exude an air of confidence you can get away with a lot.
That's why they're called "confidence men".
When you have confidence, you can have a lot of fun. And when you have a mirrorless camera, you can do amazing things.

When I was in college I worked on the college radio station. Technical stuff.
One of the radio transmitters was on the roof of the women's dormitory (they lived in their own space in those days). It was a real hassle for male students to get into the dormitory to maintain the transmitters.
The college maintenance men wore a sort of uniform: grey chinos and grey shirts.
We bought a pair of grey chinos and a grey shirt. Next time it was needed we just carried a box of tools and walked into the women's dormitory and into the elevator without stopping. Nobody said a word.

Most cameras were mirrorless in those days, but I had an SLR.

Splain it to me, Lucy, aside from mirror slap noise and the click, what can a mirrorless camera do that a DSLR can't?
If you’re worried about calling it a mirror lens, then you don’t know Schmidt (Cassegrain).

I think you forgot to mention good looks, as well!
