Good choice, Cindy, and excellent photos! #3 is really a unique angle and background for an eagle. Your camera/lens combo will bring you many years and thousands of amazing photos!
Thanks.... I know I will enjoy it for yrs to come.
Thanks QD....I have been looking for the TC but so far they are out of stock and the used one's I am finding are almost as expensive as a new one! Once I sell the older Tamron lens...then I will be able to purchase the TC.
They were pretty high, but patience worked. Check Roberts Used Photo Pro once in a while - if you see one in good or better condition at a price you can tolerate, buy immediately. They are reliable and have an excellent guarantee.
I took a look on Google's images on American Bald Eagle and I think most of your photos are better than any of the ones they have posted. I like #3. I used to shot wildlife and sold a few. I'm glad I kept my day job. I have the same set up as you and it is faultless. Good luck with it and post some more of your superb work
What a wonderful compliment...thank you! I've never sold anything but I have won some contests...that's fun!

I got my new lens the other day and today was the first chance I have had to take it out -- AF-S Nikkor 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR --- I love it on my Nikon D500! It's so much clearer than the Tamron 150-600mm G1 lens that I have been using!
Check these out and tell me what you think?
…you got the nictitating membrane on that first one…not something you often get to see…especially on an eagle…speed of the camera and lens working together…excellent catch…!

Thanks! I knew he was blinking...but didn't know there was a specific name for it. Looked up "Nictitating membrane" thanks for telling me the correct name!

The Nikkor 200-500 can produce superb images. I use it on the D500 and D810 with wonderful results. In fact, I have culled down my most used lens choices to the Nikkor 24-70, the Nikkor 70-200, the Nikkor 200-500, and the Nikkor 105 (Micro). I have many other focal length lenses, but I find these produce the best balance between sharpness and flexibility.
