Dame Judi Dench cannot do wrong IMHO. See her in 'Philomena'. Also Dame Maggie Smith is a fabulous actor of TV (Downton Abbey) and Film (Prime of Miss Jean Brodie) to give just two examples of her work. Wonderful characters.

I think one of the best Dame Judy Dench movies was Philomena. It is a true story of the scandal of enforced adoption practices in Ireland. It combines a great deal pathos with some most amusing moments

Dame Dench is brilliant. She has had many lead roles in British productions, some of which have been broadcast on PBS over the years.
