I think you are just nit picking. If anything, the dust makes the capture sharper.

I purchased a brand new canon 70-300ii lens for my bay 12/2020 I had to return in for dust in the lens, replaced it Jan 2021, returned for dust in the lens, replaced in Feb 2021 and again returned because of dust in the lens. B&H were great with the returns and money back. B&H person said on the third lens, return to Canon and they will refurbish it or wait for a new shipment. I said no Sen me my money back. So here again my birthday, I decided to order a refurbished lens from Canon USA and called and asked about dust and they said refurbished means they take care of everything. So I order and guess what HAPPY BIRTHDAY, there is dust in the lens. I send it back. I look online Mpb camera, they have 14 used and 10 of the used they describe have dust or slight dust in them.
So what gives with Canon?

Dust in the lens does nothing to deter strong sharp images. IMHO

None of us are there to see your lens and camera and actual image results. Post some examples of how the dust in the lens is demonstrated in the resulting images, in the form of unedited original JPEGs.

If you shine a flash light into ANY lens you will see dust to some extent............................... Any zoom lens that you purchase that breathes in and out as you change focal lengths will slowly but surely collect more dust. Every single lens I have has minute amounts of dust but this DOES NOT affect the quality of image the lens produces. The lens focuses past the dust and you will never see it in an image. Lots of more important things to worry about in photography than dust particles in your lens.

Not just zooms that move in and out but ALL zooms regardless get the SAME amount of dust in them per lens rentals. So if your zoom is internal it collects dust equally as a zoom that actually extends in and out.

Really excessive dust will degrade contrast but we are talking excessive!
If specs can be seen in the viewfinder, it is in the camera. eg focusing screen etc.
If it’s in the images only, it’s on the sensor.

You are very lucky - most places will NOT warranty against reasonable "dust" in the lens - stop obsessing ! The Canon 70-300 IS II is a GREAT lens no matter ANY dust ! !

Dust is in this world to stay. I have found spots on my lens after shooting and it didn't show on my pictures. I believe that it being so "out of focus" it won't show.

Probably a stupid question: but is there anyway to slowly remove said dust using air flow thru lens, place in a box that can slowly be vacuumed out, maybe use an anti-static device to help, etc? High precision balances can have low radiation materials in them to remove static effects for example.
Just wondering?

Vacuuming it out will bring in air that the vacuum sucks out

Use a really good air filter for intake end of things, maybe enclosed box with small HEPA filter? I was thinking more of a permanent setup for multiple uses, slow decrease in air pressure to avoid damage, etc. Grease in lens might be problem if moved, etc. Just wondering if anyone has tried it or if such things aleady exists, just some thoughts.

If it does not show in the picture why bother with what you see by shining a light into the lens. My experience with Canon as a whole has been very positive.

What I am impressed with most, is the great service you got from Canon & B&H in agreeing to replace so many lenses. The lens you bought (and most lenses) are not sealed. Zoom lenses with moving elements act like Bellows, they suck air in and push it out. Some internal dust is inevitable, and it would be very rare for it to affect image quality. But it would not manifest as dust particles in pictures, if you see that they are on the sensor.
Take a picture of the blue sky at f/16 to see dust on the sensor.
What Gives with Canon? .....Like Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm & others they make great zoom lenses that are not hermetically sealed, and operate in a dusty world.
Does the lens take great pictures? Enjoy it.
