I would leave it as is.

I would crop top and sides to reduce the amount of business. I know you didn't ask this but I would also work on bringing out the contrast and detail in the lighter plants. I think that it will focus the eye on the subjects and reduce the temptation to look at the green background.

Think I'd go square or marginally taller, but add a decent border.

Hmmm, I think I'll try that. It means I would have to cut a matt but that's no big thing

I tried for a square, as I thought that would fit the subject nicely. Unfortunately, that ended up cropping just a tad too much off the sides. So for me the best-looking crop was just a shade off a square. Makes for an odd printing size, but perhaps that doesn't matter.

Doesn't matter as long as it can be fit in an 8x10 frame

I'd chop some of the left and top; appears to be slightly out of focus, and bit off the left, per attached.

It is a nice picture!

There is nothing of interest on the right side, so chop over there first and then on top, adjusting crop as needed to maintain 8 x 10.

Since you want to keep your 8X10 ratio, if you crop too much from the right side you will also crop the top or bottom cutting into the main part of the photo. Personally I would not crop it unless I were to change the ratio.

Most photography subjects require context. That's what you have here. I'd leave it alone.
