Come on guys, you can’t seriously refer to anything as whiskey unless it comes from Scotland. Others are merely replicas.

It is a good bourbon. My preference is the Buffalo Trace distillery line

Send me a bottle and I'll let you know...

Only you can be the judge of that - did you have a sip? If so, I hope it wasn’t with those beverages next to it! It is a Kentucky Bourbon, so for my taste just doesn’t measure up to a good Tennessee Whisky.

Knob Creek might be acceptable if there's no strychnine or antifreeze handy, but true Bourbon aficionados will tell you Knob is only good if it's watered down to the point where it can't be tasted at all.

If you're considering gifting a bottle of Knob to a friend or family member, be sure to gift it to someone you truly hate. If you're thinking of getting a bottle for yourself, be sure your medical/life insurance premiums are paid up, and your Last Will & Testament is dated, signed, notarized, and is in a place where it can be accessed easily.

On the other hand, if you really want to treat yourself (or somebody else), go for Woodford Reserve. The 'regular' fare is excellent in and of itself (remember: never more than two moderately sized ice cubes!), but Woodford's Double Oaked blend is the stuff of legends. And then there's Weller's 107, too....

Ice cubes? Horror...

I’ll stick with my old and loyal friend Jack Daniels.

We have so many whiskeys to choose from. Everyone has a favorite. I have consumed Knobs Creek , and it is fine. Several years ago , my wife and I traveled to Kentucky and Tennessee just to find these places tucked away in the hills. We came home with a trunk and back seat full. Combine that trip with another from the South collecting Moonshine ; well if I never buy another bottle of whiskey again in my life , I will never be dry.

Aww... “Whiskey” the Irish “water of life.” A long-time friend's mother was Irish and his father was Scottish. This meant that he would love to drink but did not like to pay for it..!

There is no possible correct reply to that question…one should drink what tastes good and like others have noted price isn’t necessarily a good indicator. Me…I like Joshua Craig or Makers Mark but most anything but the well brands is perfectly drinkable.

Also…the recommendation about a couple drops of water to bloom and soften the bite is good…thanks to the Irish for that one…it isn’t enough to materially reduce the proof but significantly changes the taste.

Knob Creek is fine.

Speaking of the Irish…we found in a month thee that cocktails of whisky as they call it pretty much don’t exist. One orders your preferred brand, smoky or smooth depending on what one likes…and you get 3 glasses, one with the whisky, one with water, and one with a few ice cubes…so you can do the drop of water or a bit of ice as you prefer. We asked one Bryan there about that and he clued us in to the drop of water blooming trick and it works with scotch and American whiskeys as well…and even with rum you’re gonna sip. We learned several things in Ireland…most importantly that everything we thought we knew about Irish Whisky was wrong…and the second is that the first rule of parking is there are no rules…unless there’s a sign specifically saying No Parking then if the car will fit it’s a parking space.

Never had Knob Creek. I like either Old Grand-Dad (Kentucky Straight Bourbon 100 proof), or Dewar's (Blended Scotch - Double Aged). This feels like a good night for Dewar's.

Don't know about their bourbon but I drink their rye straight.

Knob has a kick and at 100 proof, it should. If you want something really smooth and 80 proof, you can’t beat Basil Hayden. Woodford Reserve is a good choice in the middle.
Since it gets the extra filtering between barrel and bottle, Jack Daniels can not be legally labeled a bourbon, but who cares: great for mixed drinks.

Good spirits are pored into a glass and sipped. Lesser quality spirits are consumed on the rocks an/or with water. Tasteless spirits are mixed with carbonated beverages or fruit juice. Dr. Pepper, to me, tastes like carbonated prune juice and would be used to mask the taste of foul booze. So, are the De. Pepper cans for tea totters, or being used as a mix?
