I know the picture sucks. I am not asking about that. I am asking about the whiskey. Is this brand any good? I am not much of an Aficionado of Whiskeys.

Yes it is, but my go to Bourbon is Jim Beam. Enjoy, but remember it is 100 proof (or 50% alcohol).

Yup.... It's great whisky/bourbon.

There is a lot of variety in whisky's flavors. A good whisky is one you like. This Knob Creek is considered "bold" by some reviews; meaning lots of taste and at 100 proof there may be lots of punch from the alcohol. A drop of water may improve the drinkability.

I do not think that I ever had this whisky so I can not address if I like it; that said there have been some that I do not like. I have purchased $25 to $190 fifths and all most were ok and some very good and more cost did not always mean I liked it more. One of the easiest sipping is Rittenhouse Rye that costs less than $25.

First is it for you or someone else? If it’s for you the only question is do you like it? If you do that is all that matters. Knob is a nice Bourbon Whiskey. It is Jim Beams premium Bourbon but not for everyone’s pallet. Not as smooth as some other high end Bourbons. But certainly considered a premium Bourbon. I prefer 1792 or Woodford reserve but that is personal preference. Bourbons for bourbon drinkers are very much a personal choice. If you give it as a gift, any Bourbon drinker will appreciate it. It’s definitely a sipping whiskey not a swilling whiskey to drink just to get drunk. You want to savor the taste. You also don’t want to ruin it with ginger ale making high balls. There are plenty of other less expensive whiskeys that would be better for that. A dash of water or on the rocks is the best way to enjoy it. Not just throw it back. So short answer yes it is a very good whiskey.

Good stuff, Knob Creek, but as others have mentioned, it does have a bold taste.

My preference for good sipping bourbon is Woodford Reserve. There's another excellent sipping bourbon, pretty much unheard of outside Kentucky, and that's Very Old Barton. Whenever I get back to the Bluegrass, I always pick up a couple of bottles to "run" back to Michigan.

I hope no one is mixing it with that Dr. Pepper...

I'm not much of whiskey drinker, usually the cliché drinks now and then. Recently I was introduced to one that I really enjoyed on the rocks as a sipping whiskey, Skrewball. It is peanut butter flavored, not for everyone, but for some. I found it quite enjoyable

Knob Creek might be acceptable if there's no strychnine or antifreeze handy, but true Bourbon aficionados will tell you Knob is only good if it's watered down to the point where it can't be tasted at all.

If you're considering gifting a bottle of Knob to a friend or family member, be sure to gift it to someone you truly hate. If you're thinking of getting a bottle for yourself, be sure your medical/life insurance premiums are paid up, and your Last Will & Testament is dated, signed, notarized, and is in a place where it can be accessed easily.

On the other hand, if you really want to treat yourself (or somebody else), go for Woodford Reserve. The 'regular' fare is excellent in and of itself (remember: never more than two moderately sized ice cubes!), but Woodford's Double Oaked blend is the stuff of legends. And then there's Weller's 107, too....
