Here are a couple of overcooked HDRs from a few years ago, plus some more recent shots at the Cimitero Monumentale in Milano

Extremely compelling images, Tony. Thank you for sharing.

Very nice set, Pat. That first one is outstanding.

Nice photos. A great thing to do as photographers is to participate in Find-a-Grave. Photographing stones they request you Find in your location. I do this occasionally, very satisfying activity.

On my trip to Iceland, we visited a lot of old churches on the ring road. Their cemeteries are surrounding the churches and very unusual.

There are many things common in cemeteries, but there is occasionally something a bit different as well. Headstones of notable people, interesting words on headstones, and uncommon styles of headstones can be of interest. Sometimes there other objects of interest as well. I hope you enjoy the challenge to find some interesting things to photograph in cemeteries.

There are typically many cemeteries in most areas, so finding some to search out photo opportunities shouldn't require too much time or travel. When it comes to cemeteries, some are large, some small, some fairly young, many old, and some nearly forgotten.

I went back to Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills on my ride this morning. I photographed a few graves that I missed before and found a new one. I use find-a-grave.com to locate the graves. They didn't have any photos or coordinates for the grave of Bill Withers, who died last year. I was looking for another grave when I looked up and saw the name Withers right in front of me. I asked a couple of employees if it belonged to the singer and they said it does.

If you are ever in the Big Bend area of Texas, you need to go to the Terlingua Cemetery at Sunrise (remember in old times all graves faced east).

For the Links lovers, the ruins in St.Andrews which, I believe, date back to the 13th century, have a monument to Old Tom Morris.
Over on the Emerald Isle, those playing Ballybunion are greeted along the right rough on the 1st hole with this (rather foreboding) scene.
