I’ve really never thought of photographing a cemetery but this challenge has made me think I’ve been missing something. Thanks Bbarn for an interesting challenge. I’m sorry I have nothing to include but I’ve really enjoyed everyone’s images.
A Lesson to be learned from this grave in the Keywest Florida Cemetery!

This is my first post to the forum although I have been reading it for quite some time. While traveling to Sicily in Fall 2019 (just prior to the pandemic in Europe), we visited the cemetery in my maternal ancestral town of Melilli.
Hope you enjoy the photos.
A neat old stone in a graveyard in Florida with Spanish moss hanging off the tree behind.

[quote=Bbarn]There are many things common in cemeteries, but there is occasionally something a bit different as well. Headstones of notable people, interesting words on headstones, and uncommon styles of headstones can be of interest. Sometimes there other objects of interest as well. I hope you enjoy the challenge to find some interesting things to photograph in cemeteries.
There are typically many cemeteries in most areas, so finding some to search out photo opportunities shouldn't require too much time or travel. When it comes to cemeteries, some are large, some small, some fairly young, many old, and some nearly forgotten.[/quot
I thought I was the only "weirdo" that frequented cemeteries. I do enjoy an hour or so of viewing headstones and letting my mind wander back to the 1700s and 1800s. I'll be spending plenty of time there at some point but for now I enjoy the short visits. Thanks a lot for hosting.
Lots of pages since last on. Will have to come back and look. Mean while just one question. Ever been to the Happy Hollow Cemetary?
There are some famous people lying there. And...I think the headless horseman may have passed by once.
