I bought a camera advertised to be in excellent condition from KEH. It wasn't in working order when I received it. KLH agreed to repair it. When they received it, however, they said I had caused the problem by letting dirt get in the camera. They are sending the camera back to me unrepaired.

It was my word against theirs and they refused to believe me, or offer any kind of compromise.

If it wasn't in working order when you got it, why didn't you contact KEH immediately and return it?

This is critical and something some people end up learning the hard way.

You should only buy bargain rated camera from KEH.

I have had excellent luck with "Bargain" rated products at KEH, including a Nikon D3300 for $165 that looked practically new and had a shutter count of some 7000!

This is so sad to me that this person, who is having issues with a camera, is ridiculed over typos in their comment. Seems you all knew that they purchased the camera at KEH. No one is perfect and we all may occasionally hit the wrong key while typing and if a phone is used, the phone may change what we typed. Please try to be kind. They are asking for help and if more info is needed, just kindly ask for more info and stop being so mean.

You're dealing with three companies. KED, KEH & KLH. No wonder you're having problems.

Sorry, but I don’t see any request for help from the OP - I see a complaint with very few details.

Somehow, I can't imagine this scenario. Everything I have purchased from KEH was better than advertised and worked perfectly, save for one item they had mis-labeled in inventory. They credited my account 100% for that one and told me to keep it or give it away. (It's a $20 lens adapter, but not the one that fits my camera.)

KEH's return policy is near the bottom of this web page:

Proofreading, another lost art it seems. ??? As stated by another UHHer, one can go back and correct errors for up to one hour. Seems laziness is afoot on many levels in the OP.

Amen to your experiences! Everything I ever bought from KEH, from top-of-the-line, to "BGN", has been much better than advertised. Recently, I wanted the "fabled" Nikon 70-180mm AF-D ED f4.5-5.6 Micro after reading Moose Petersen's and Ken Rockwell's reviews (puff-piecing aside). I ordered it late on a Tuesday, and it was in my hot little grubbies on Thursday afternoon. KEH even put in in a case labeled "Nikon 70-180". I searched the entire lens, from front to back, and couldn't find a single wear mark, scratch, mar, anywhere. I finally found a small nearly invisible scuff mark on the lens hood. They even included a 62mm B+W UV filter. This lens has certainly worked well so far. I'm still "breaking it in".

Don’t they have a 180 day return policy?

Yes on both counts. The bargain tripod fluid head is perfect. It did arrive missing a small snap ring to hold the 1/4"–20 TPI camera screw in place, but with a trip to my tool shed, I found one of those. I later found the one that fell off in the shipping bag. It was worn a bit by the previous owner, apparently.
