Homeless Vet? Where do you get that? Most "homeless Vets" are neither homeless nor Vets. They are losers playing any hook they can come up with. Of course that's only my humble opinion. Based on experience.

FWIW, prior to the pandemic related joblessness here in Colorado it has been noted through roundups and surveys that a large percentage of homeless people living on the streets of Denver are vets who are often mentally disturbed, alcoholics, and/or drug addicts. I suspect some of the draw to this area has to do with the presence of a regional VA hospital in Denver.
