Downloaded it last week . Somewhat of a learning curve but the masking is cool. My issue was that none of my presets worked . Adobe tried for an hour and no luck . The rep told me they were swamped with calls . I had them put back the last update , he also said wait about a month until the bugs are worked out then download it .

Adobe seems to be trying to turn LR into PS. I hope they don't forget that real photo editors use PS.

There is an invert button in the mask control panel on that does this.

...wow. *If* it were possible I'd be all for it; one stop shop. But PS does SO much more and will continue to be the go to "finish" software, at least for many of my shots. But then, I guess I'm not a "real" photoeditor if I just stay in LR to finish, right?

Wrong. I apologize for using the term "real". What I should have said a Senior, meaning OLD, Photo Editor, those of us who started using Photoshop in 1991. It wasn't until 2007, 16 years later, that Lightroom Version 1.0 was released.

The trick here is that you can't see the invert command if you click on the mask. You have to click on the mask, open up the subfolder underneath it, and then click on that to see the invert command.

It is not an investment. It is a cost. And to think what I used to spend on film and processing. I couldn't pick up my Nikon without thinking about the cost of each push on the shutter button.

People aren’t rational. But we do rationalize. Somehow it is more difficult to spend money on film or subscription software than on computers, monitors, calibrators, packaged software, StarTrucker coffee, fast “food,” and alcohol/tobacco.

$10/month for what’s in the Photographer’s Bundle is trivial to me.

$10/month is WAY below my impulse purchase level. And Adobe provides me with WAY more value for the money.

What? How can you say that people aren't rational?

That works. I thought I was losing what’s left of my mind. One other question if you would be so kind. When you add a mask in LR, can you bring that mask into PS? If so, how?

It's a sign. See it. Believe it. It says: Use Lightroom.

Because rational people don't see this way:

(from a Tri-X film original in 1973, processed in Lightroom with Negative Lab Pro and treated to an acid trip in Photoshop with three Neural Filters...)
