After reading all the replies, I am backing out of the deal. Too much confusing on who is getting the camera, who is running the project. Sorry that it.
The OP is running the project and Laurie in Florida is the recipient. What's so confusing about that!?

I Chris Taylor is the one running the program and Laurie Housworth is the veteran in need of the camera.

I thought some might be interested in getting cameras.
Sending you a pm
We are not talking about your friend we are talking about a lady that is a disabled veteran who lost everything in a fire and needs a camera to assist in her PTSD recovery. Please don’t try to circumvent the conversation to your friends group as this not about him.

This might sound snide and crass but being a disabled veteran doesn't automatically qualify someone for free equipment.
I served my country and I am also disabled however I would never think about joining a photo forum and as a first post ask about getting free gear.
I saved a little bit at a time from my disability check until I could afford an old DSLR just to see if I would enjoy the hobby.
Older model cameras and kit lenses are not that expensive.
I'll guarantee you can find a setup for under $200.00 with camera batteries and a couple lenses.
The Gimp software is freeware so it's very affordable.
You can purchase it and give it to him. br This mi... (

I bet you were not raped on active duty or lost everything in a fire like she did.

I'm willing to bet neither were you and since you are the one that is asking for me or others to give her a camera only to add the other details at a different time sounds pretty suspicious of your motive.
You offer no verification other than the statements you have been making and ballooning the whole time.
No I was not but I am trying to help her out not cause her more pain

According to property records you live at the premises and that's a recent development.

I think this attempt to provide assistance to a needy person has devolved into ridiculous banter. We have no reason to question the sincerity behind the request; it is simple, either you wish to donate or you don't. The spirit and intention behind the donation is what is important. There appears to be several people within this organization who have good hearts; which is in my opinion a wonderful thing to see.

I agree with you. I do own the house but I do not live there and she is renting it from me.The ons guy seems to have a issue with trying to assist a veteran in need. After all all veterans joined to protect and serve us why can we not do something to help them when they need it?

What I was questioning was the fact that the op starts begging for a free camera on the first post he makes upon joining the forum and a simple check on the address listed it as the mailing address for the one that posted it.
Not the tax address but rather where he gets the mail.
Now he says he doesn't live there but rents it out to the lady.
How else would it look.
Either way he's gotten several free cameras from the members.
Oh excuse me she has.
Even though there's not a female listed at the address.
