How did you break this lens?

I was in a balcony photographing a band and set the lens on the floor next to me and the lights went out while I was setting up my tripod and a leg bumped it and it fell to the walk near by, about four or five feet.
Ok it was accident that had a happy ending
I ended up with Tamron's very first AF 70-300 lens (made for film!) when I bought a Nikon 6006, complete with a Nikon 28-80 lens (also made for film), bag, and 6 rolls of Fuji Film for a grand total of $40 (just the film was worth that!)! I put that lens on my D750 and shot my son's entire soccer season with it. It focused fast, and all the photos were so sharp, I couldn't tell the difference between the photos taken with it and with the Nikon 70-300 AF-S I bought 2 years later. Tamron is a good company, and, though I prefer to stick with OEM, I can't fault Tamron's products.

Yes the Tamron warrantee is for six years but only to the original - registered owner!

Sounds like a fair repair bill. I use Nikon repair for my equipment and I also have had a good experience.
