There were mines and mining roads everywhere back then: At the old town of Waldorf, over the mountain from Silver Plume there lots of buildings, some with pots and pans hanging on the walls and old clothes in dressers! I asked my dad if I could take a skillet home and he said, "No son, leave them for other people to see them!" Hah, I'll bet their still hanging there!! LOL

Must have been a great experience. My connection to the area is recent, grown kids moved there for work. My Son has a new fancy off road Jeep, I'm sure he'll be all over the place.

I have 3 jeeps now, 2 are hot rods, have had 23 in my day, used to race them. At 82 I don't get off the road much anymore!!
