I spent 2 1/2 weeks in Austria as guide for a small group. That role does not afford me the time for photography I would like, but I am a devout believer in travel others pay for. I have been to all of these places many times, but I have picked out a few shots that managed to rise above snapshots.

Mindbogglingly beautiful compositions

Superb pictures - brought back many memories. I lived in Vienna for a year in undergraduate school and am supposed to celebrate a 50th reunion there in May. I also have been back to Austria a number of times over the years.

Yes, I believe there are two on the ridgeline. The summit has a large cross on it.

Could there be two other climbers on the lefthand peak, some distance from one another? There is also a vertical object on the highest peak, but it appears too large to be a human when compared to the climbers on the snowfield. Perhaps old eyes just seeing things...

I counted four. But that was under extreme magnification and the image was getting blurry.

The full-size photo is quite sharp, but I was shooting with a D850 so starting with 45mb RAW
