Thank you for your feed back

Needs something for scale. / can you please explain that for me.

Is this 5 'bite size' treats for 1 serving or 5 'family style' servings for everyone at the table?[/quote]

My hobby is food photography. Yes it is bite size, but we are no serving the chocolates just photography.

The colorful candy stands out better on the dark background. DOF could be better.

Thank you, I will try a dark background next time. We eat all the chocolates. Wow what a learning experience here

Hello, I have been doing food photography for almost two years. During lockdown, I watched some videos to learn about lightning and composition, still learning never end ...

I have been posting most of my photos in the foodie food section.

Please critique, there are some learning opportunities here !

Thanks,

I have absolutely no expertise, but my instant first impression was the shadows made number two more interesting. Second thought, even better if they were softer.

I do not care for either one due to lack of depth of field. If everything was in nice sharp focus I still would not care for them due to uninteresting composition. They are too empty.

Thank for looking and the great feedback! Looking to improve composition and more props around the subjects.

Try using the hyperfocal distance to bring all candies into focus.

Possibly try a couple of reflectors to remove the shadows

Both could use some help.
DOF issues in both, the shadows in #2 and the black "patterns" on #1 take away from the image
IMHO...

Hi, Ernesto,
These seem mainly documentary.
I would be inclined to try a lower perspective and play with macro and different DOFs

This shot screams out for focus stacking.
