I like #10, especially after the electric koolaid acid test flashback of the Yellow Submarine in #4! They are all winners!

These are all great Brent. I agree with Floyd’s choices. Since I love landscapes, I’d go with #2 overall.

Our photography instructor wanted each student to submit our best photo for critique. I have a folder labeled "my best photos" and went to that to select one. It was difficult but I came out with one. I'm including my favorite in these ten finalist photos. I'm curious if you have a favorite amongst these ten and if my choice is the same as yours.
They all look best in download mode.

Yep going with #2 & #5 also..

Absolutely #2 with #5 a very close second. All are outstanding.

I would be very happy being able to take any of these, very good job on all.
I really like #1, keep on coming back to that one, all aspects work for me, focus, color, cropping, etc really good sense of action/movement, water looks wet like it should, felt like I had to dry my glasses after looking at that one.
I would not want to waste time trying to critique.

#5 and #2. If you want to come to Michigan and teach a class yourself, I’d sign up. These are wonderful photos.

A quick vote for #2, because you even got 2 more surfers right in the best spots to "tell the story" about surfing and going back for more, and because you caught all of this right in the middle of a beautiful rainbow spray that I hadn't seen before in this whole scheme of pictorial action. The lighting and "snap" of the colors in the shot were superb.

But the others were terrific as well.

Really enjoy the artsy, colorful effects of #10, but as someone who simply loves the ocean I choose #8 for the simplicity with #2 a close 2nd. Was an enjoyable decision and I had to wait until I could look at these on the desktop!

Numero 5. BTW, If I were a curator of the WH Gallery, I would prefer your #10 over that .5 million Hunter’s so called masterpiece...Let alone the purpose of your presentation, all photos, Brent, are outstanding!

#3 for action, you can see a bit of face in it.
#4 for something different.
#5 for top rated rendition of what many of us try to do but fail to do with such aplomb.

If I was pushed to one for a 'class' situation I'd go for #4, but I don't think it's the best.

Thanks John for your analysis. I had to look up your word "aplomb": Definition of aplomb
: complete and confident composure or self-assurance : POISE
She played several roles with equal aplomb.
Thank you for your thoughts on this series.

I go for 5 - beautiful serenity perfectly presented.

John, "Nice but not unique" was another comment on that photo. It's interesting how each photographer has a different take on each photo.
