They are all outstanding, #1 and #5 are my choices. Number 5 is my favorite.
John, "Nice but not unique" was another comment on that photo. It's interesting how each photographer has a different take on each photo. Thanks for your input.
Really good images, Brent - these are my first impressions. 1. Excellent impact- in-your-face action - but maybe too closely cropped... 2. My favorite - good color, definite subject, good comp 3. is OK... 4. Comical.. well done.. 5. Nice but not unique 6. leans a bit 7. is pretty good - good viewer/subject relationship... crop a bit more on bottom & right.. second favorite 8. Cool... needs tighter crop top and much of bottom- like the colors and diagonal line 9. meh... 10. artful... interesting...
2, 7, & 8... and all really close....
Really good images, Brent - these are my first im... (show quote)
I really like how you went the extra mile and gave your opinion of each of the ten photos. Thanks so much. It's great to read what other photographers think and feel about the series. You gave me many thoughts that I had not thought of before.
They are all so good! I would enter the one that took the most effort to get it the way you envisioned.
So sorry.....I've already submitted my photo for critique of the class. I must say that the one I submitted did not have the most effort put into it, but there are other reasons I chose it.
I vote for numbers 2 and 5. There are thousand of surfer close up out there but not that many like your distance shot creating a real "sense of space" along with a good surfer action shot. The mother/daughter portrait is absolutely beautiful with great lighting and a perfect composition.
Thank you for your in-depth analysis of these photos. Number 2 & 5 seem to be the two favorites of most photographers here on the UHH.
