I was shooting landscape shots yesterday with my Canon 6D. While shooting I saw a few dust particles and fine hairs while looking through the view finder. At first I thought it might be the lens. So, I cleaned it thoughly. It didn't solve the problem. I put another lens on. Still the same. I cleaned the sensor with with on one built into the camera. I ran the the special stick on the mirror. Any suggestions?

That can be a distraction but If it's not showing up in the photo then that's good. It's not in the eye cup right on the outside, right ?

You can remove the viewfinder glass above the mirror and clean it, that might help. Otherwise perhaps sending the camera to Canon with a note about the problem might be a good alternative.

I know this might be a strange question, and off topic, but what is the meaning of "Acoarst"? I've seen the word used several times and am lost as to figuring out the meaning!

... And I'm still itching to know, any help, anyone?

Getting to the dust is often the difficult part. Online suggestions include using a Rocket Blower, but getting that air inside the viewfinder can be difficult. You don't want to make the situation worse. I'm sure I have dust inside my viewfinders, but I just ignore it. Sending it away for a thorough cleaning would be an expensive solution.

The relevant surfaces of the viewfinder are fortunately easily fully accessible on the 6D. Last of that breed tho :-(

SLRs are supposed to have debris in their viewfinder. It’s elemental to their vintage mystique. Only an artless Philistine would fail to appreciate its nostalgic charm.

It’s “Retro Chique”, rather similar to the warm nostalgic crackle and gentle hissing from an old vinyl LP (on the turntable, or in the fireplace, either-or).

Yeah you're not wrong, those were the days, and despite all of our advances in technology etc, I kind of miss them.
