Yes, they still do. Tarpon Springs is a small Greek Community in Pinellas County, about 1/2 hour by car North of Tampa with about 24,000 residents and sponge picking is their main activity besides tourism. It has several Greek Restaurants, gorgeous beaches and parks to visit.
Nice shots, I recognize Hella's Kitchen restaurant, great food. Lots of photo targets at the sponge docks!

That looks like the Hella restaurant on the main st of Tarpon Springs. My pil lived in Tarpon Springs.
