This is a 5X magnification focus stacked view of a Yellow Jacket.
I've acquired several yellow jackets that I have encountered during daytime walkabouts however this is the first one that I came across in the dark of the night. I found this one actively working around the porch light where I imaging it was looking for an easy meal of the insects that are attracted to the light. It now resides in my collection where it will star in future sessions of various views and magnifications.
Nice, I can't think of a better use for a Yellow Jacket.
This has a beauty all it own, Gary.
Thanks, Longshadow. Glad that you stopped by.

Thanks, JimmyTB. I have no reservations in dispatching them when they are around the house for their nests can be quite exciting when one accidentally comes across them.

Thanks, UTMike. They are aggressive little devils.
Architect1776, thanks for stopping by.
So that’s what these little bastards look like. I’m in the process of removing these from a part of my house of course it’s near the roof and a total PIA, I’m gonna try to get some pictures of them before I annihilate them this will be the third major nest I don’t with all my 60 years of homeownership. Oh what fun I’m having,I’d rather be taking pictures even of them somewhere else, take care
What is there left to say, sippy?
Sippy,
I’m sorry for going out on a tangent about the YJ’s. I was just trying to interject some levity into the conversation. I did not want to take away anything from your photograph , that was truly great. I have to learn more about the process and try some of my own. Thank you so much for your understanding. Bob
