A good musician can make a cheap guitar sound great.
But she will have to tune it more often and her fingers will tire quickly.
Conversely, a novice musician will produce the the same sound quality playing a fine guitar or a cheap guitar.

I've been watching camera reviews and comparisons on YouTube, and I have to be careful. The new cameras sound so good! I especially like comparisons because they point out specific differences between two cameras. So far, I have resisted the urge to buy anything. I still use my D750, Sony a6000, and Fuji X-T30. So far, so good. Unless I find a good excuse to buy something new, I think I'll be safe.
I cancelled my Nikon D850 on Wednesday. I have settled on Nikon Z-6ii with the adapter for my Nikkor F lenses, and the Z-20-70 S F/4.0 Zoom. I will also purchase a Nikon 85mm S F/1.8, so I will have a fast native portriate lens.I will also use my AF 17 -35 mm f/2.8 ED with the Z adapter, to have the wide angle covered. My F mount 80-200 f/4.5 and 300 F 4.5 have me covered for longer shots. The adapter will also be used with three other fast F/1.4 Nikkor F primes, 35mm and 50mm, and a 28mm F 2.8, if needed. The only other option that I am considering is an optional verticle battery grip to have a 2nd battery and a Z-35mm F/1.8 purchase at a later time. I hope this will give me a good start in the digital area. I am going to wait until Black Friday for the sales at B&H, to save a few bucks.
Finally, I will go with On-1 and their plug-in packages for my software. I took a long look at Gimp on Linux, but there is more support, training, and options with On-1.
Thanks for all your help during this digital camera purchase process to all of you. I paid close attention to all your comments and suggestions.

Great idea! Where can I find this bunch of money?
If you find that money tree, let me know.

That sounds like a smart move.
it's not what is in your bag , it's how you use what you got in it!
Those who think they need a new camera to succeed forget it is who is behind the camera that decides the success!

Jerry, if you want something completely different, you might want to consider the new Leica M11 Monochrom rangefinder camera with a 60mp monochrome only sensor. It costs $9200 USD. You can then add one of several Leica manual focus prime lenses at an additional cost of only $4500 to $9000 USD each. The very wide dynamic range, the extremely low amount of noise even at very high ISO settings, and the contrast probably makes it the best
digital camera for monochrome shooters available today. The rear touch screen is protected with sapphire glass, the same material used for crystals on high-end watches. It has just one SD card slot but also has 256 GB of internal storage. Be the first kid on your block to get one.

want vs need! Still using the D810. I would like a little better ISO performance, better focus system & fps but, a biggie at my age would be a flip out/up, down screen. I'll get by for now & probably wait until my camera doesn't work anymore. Maybe a D850 or Z6-2 for astro. I can see & like a lot of features of the new mirrorless but...
I wouldn't own another camera w/o a full articulated screen. I have one the doesn't budge, one the flips up and one that is fully articulated. The fully articulated is great, the others not so much. VERY useful for many things.
